Silke Meiners Editor of ERJ

Prof. Silke Meiners from DZL site Munich (CPC-M) appointed Associate Editorin of European Respiratory Journal

The ERJ is the flagship journal of the European Respiratory Society with a current impact factor 11.807. It publishes clinical and experimental work relating to all aspects of adult and paediatric respiratory medicine, including cell biology, epidemiology, immunology, oncology, pathophysiology, and imaging. Prof. Meiners will support the Journal with her translational expertise in molecular biology and immunology of the lung to promote basic and translational science in the ERJ.

 

 

Prof. Meiners research is mainly focused on the cell biology and immunology of chronic obstructive lung diseases (COPD), lung cancer, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and lung aging. Her specific interest lies in the regulation of protein homeostasis in lung disease by the proteasomal protein degradation system. 

She is currently acting as the secretary of the assembly "Basic and Translational Sciences" of the European Respiratory Society  - the wordwide largest respiratory society.
