The 12th annual meeting of the German Center for Lung Research (DZL) in Bad Nauheim in June 2024 impressed with a record number of 630 participants! The number of posters presented was also the highest in DZL history at 388. CPC-M researcher Lin Yang was all the more pleased about his poster prize in the area of platform imaging (see image opposite). He presented his work on AI-generated imaging in lung research. Congratulations!

A big thank you also goes to CPC-M scientist Aicha Jeridi for her years of commitment as a DZL Academy Fellow Representative. She handed over to Camila Melo (also CPC-M) at the annual meeting.

During the evening event on Thursday, DZL speaker Werner Seeger announced significant changes to the DZL board. Erika von Mutius was bid farewell from the board and honored for her long-standing commitment as speaker for the DZL site CPC-M. Professor Ali Önder Yildirim, who had taken over from Professor von Mutius as speaker in March, was officially welcomed. Professor Gesine Hansen (MHH Hannover) was introduced as the new elected board member and successor to the late Professor Tobias Welte as speaker for the BREATH site.

At the end of the annual conference, Werner Seeger emphasized the outstanding scientific quality, the cooperative spirit and the immense, constantly growing commitment of the DZL community and especially of young scientists. The participants were looking forward to seeing you again in Heidelberg in 2025!
